Terms of service
Last updated: 11 August 2026
AppSwappers is an exchange between developers. These are the rules that keep it worth something. They are written to be read, not to be skipped.
1. What this is
AppSwappers connects app developers so they can test each other's apps. You install and try someone else's app and leave honest feedback; that earns points. You spend those points to have your own app listed for other developers to test.
The service is provided by Limakursas, Lübeck, Germany. Full details are in the legal notice.
We are an independent project. We are not affiliated with Google LLC, and nothing here is endorsed by Google.
2. Who can use it
You must be 18 or older and have your own Google Play account. One person, one account. If you register on behalf of a company, you confirm that you are entitled to do so.
3. Your account
Give a real name or a name you actually go by, and an email address you can receive mail at — account confirmation and password resets depend on it. Keep your password to yourself. Tell us if you think someone else has got into your account.
You can delete your account at any time. Points expire with it; see section 4.
4. Points
There is no way to buy points. The only way to get them is to take part: a new account starts with 60 points, a confirmed install earns 10, and written feedback earns 20. Listing an app costs 60 points and puts it in front of other developers for 30 days.
If points were awarded for something that turns out to be fake — an edited screenshot, an install that never happened, a second account — we reverse them. That can put a balance into the negative until it is worked off honestly.
5. If you are testing an app
- Actually install it, on your own device, from the Google Play Store, using your own account.
- Actually open it and give it an honest try before you say anything about it.
- Your proof screenshot has to be yours and unedited. Reusing a screenshot, cropping someone else's screenshot, or generating one does not count.
- Write feedback that would be useful to the person who built the app. One word is not feedback.
6. If you are listing an app
- It has to be your app, or one you are authorised to publish.
- The listing has to match what the app actually is.
- No malware, no spyware, nothing that harvests data from the people testing it, nothing illegal, nothing pornographic.
- Expect criticism. You are asking developers for an honest opinion — you do not get to demand a good one.
We may remove a listing that breaks these rules, without refunding the points it cost.
7. Honest ratings — read this one
You must never agree with another user to trade good ratings, ask for a particular number of stars, or offer anything in return for one. Rate what you actually thought.
Google Play has its own rules about ratings and reviews, and those rules apply to your Google account and your developer account — not to ours. Making sure your own behaviour complies with them is your responsibility. If you are unsure whether something is allowed, do not do it.
8. Screenshots and feedback you upload
What you upload stays yours. By uploading it you allow us to store it, show it to the developer whose app you tested, and run the automated check described in our privacy policy. Proof screenshots are deleted from the server after 14 days.
Do not upload anything containing other people's personal data, and check what else is visible on your screen before you take the shot.
9. What is not allowed
- More than one account per person.
- Bots, scripts or emulators standing in for a real install.
- Faked, edited, reused or AI-generated proof.
- Agreeing with others to trade ratings, or pressuring anyone over a rating they left.
- Using the chat for advertising, spam or harassment.
- Trying to get at other users' data, or at parts of the service that are not meant for you.
10. If you break the rules
Depending on how bad it is, we may reverse points, remove a listing, restrict an account, or close it. In clear cases of deliberate cheating we close accounts without warning, because everyone else here is relying on the proof being real.
Automated checks are not the last word. If a check went against you and you think it was wrong, open a support ticket — a human looks at it.
11. Availability
The service is free, and we offer it as it is. We do not promise it will be reachable at all times, and we do not promise how many installs, testers or reviews you will get — that depends on how many developers are active, which is not something we can guarantee.
We may change or discontinue features. If we shut the service down, we will say so with reasonable notice so you can get your data out.
12. Liability
We are fully liable for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and wherever liability is mandatory by law.
For slight negligence we are liable only where an obligation is breached that is essential to the contract and that you can reasonably rely on being met. In that case liability is limited to the damage typically foreseeable for this kind of agreement. Any further liability is excluded.
We are not responsible for the apps other users list. If you install one, you install it from the Google Play Store under the terms of the developer who published it.
13. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect. If you do not agree, you can close your account. Carrying on using the service after that point counts as accepting the new version.
14. Applicable law
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence — this clause does not take that away.
